Out & About: Polar Express Train Ride

Updated: Oct 1, 2019

Last Christmas, we drove down to Arizona to spend time with family and take a ride on the Polar Express. My sister-in-law had suggested it, and WOW! I'm so glad she did because......What a cool experience for the kids!!

HEY, HEY, HOT CHOCOLATE!

Dancing chefs, tasty treats, story-telling, carols, the Polar Express, Santa Clause, magic sleigh bells......

As you've probably guessed by now, this train ride event is inspired by the classic book and hit movie, The Polar Express. Museums and tourist railroads across the nation-and even in Canada and the UK, host this Polar Express themed event every November, December, and some in January.

Hot chocolate and cookies are served while you hear the classic story written by Chris Van Allsburg's, The Polar Express. Entertainment down the aisles as you make your journey to the North Pole, where you are greeted by Santa Clause himself and each passenger receives a silver bell which truly makes this experience magical for all the children on the train. On your way back to the depot, you'll enjoy the chance to belt out Christmas carols with your kids.

You can look for a train depot in your state that will host this event in 2019 on the main-Polar Express Train Events page.

TIPS

1. Pajamas are encouraged! The cousins all had their matching pjs on and it really added to the full experience of the Polar Express.

2. Tickets sell out FAST, so book in advance!

3. Ride is about an hour long.

4. Souvenirs are available at most depots

So much fun and a truly magical experience for everyone aboard! I HIGHLY recommend this Out & About opportunity!

Have you been? I'd love to hear your experience below!
