Among the redwoods, in Santa Cruz , California is a mysterious gravitational anomaly dubbed The Mystery Spot. When you step inside the 150 radius effect of the Mystery Spot, you immediately begin to see and feel odd effects. Why is height skewed? Why does a simple uphill climb wind you more easily than it normally would? Why are you suddenly leaning while you are standing upright?
Then, there's the most dizzying and fun experience of the Mystery Spot, the cabin.
This is fun for all ages. My 4, 6, and 9 year old all had a blast. It was a much needed outdoor outing after being cooped up for so long from Coronavirus social distancing.
Bathrooms were clean, small tour sizes make you feel comfortable and not overcrowded so you can still maintain safe distance. Gloves available if you feel the need for them while on tour or using the restrooms.
I recommend purchasing your tour tickets online ahead of time to ensure your slot. But if you happen to be in the area and want to stop by, tickets may* be available based on how busy they are. Weekends tend to be busier. Parking is $5 and you pay upon arrival when you check in for your tour.
There is a penny machine for your pressed penny collection.
Don't forget to stop by the giftshop!
There is also a trail if you want to go for a hike after your tour and continue your outdoor adventure since the tour only takes about 20 minutes anyways. We didn't take the tour this time, but plan to the next time we visit the Mystery Spot!
Don't forget a little cash to tip your tour guide** ;)
